France and the UK will shortly send its Navy off Syria to take part in war games in the Eastern Mediterranean, UK defense officials report.
The UK will be represented by the HMS Illustrious helicopter carrier, HMS Bulwark landing assault warship with 400 troops on board, as well as a destroyer, a frigate and a sub.
France will send its Charles De Gaulle helicopter carrier.
The drills will be held off Italy, Albania, and Turkey to practice potential evacuation of foreign citizens from volatile Syria.

If France and UK can play war games in Syria’s backyard; can anyone now play the same games in France’s and the UK’s backyard too by the same rules?
