The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force on Saturday started a series of military exercises in Iran’s Southern regions on Saturday.
Commander of the IRGC Ground Force Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour said that the drills, codenamed as Hamiyan-e Vellayat (Supporters of Religious Leadership) are underway in Jahrom general zone, in Iran’s Southern province of Fars.
“The drills are among a series of specialized wargames of the IRGC ground force involving part of the operation units of Madina Headquarters,” Pakpour added.
The commander said the airborne drills are aimed at maintaining and improving the combat preparedness of the IRGC ground forces.
Early in January, the IRGC Ground Force ended a series of military exercises in Iran’s Eastern regions.
The drills, codenamed as Shohaday-e Vahdat (Martyrs of Unity), were carried out in Khaf general zone, East of Iran.
During the main phase of the drills, armored units and commandos of the IRGC attacked positions of the hypothetical enemy in five phases and hit enemy with heavy fire.
A senior commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps said that the IRGC has successfully tested its latest home-produced military tools and equipment as well as the capabilities of its armored units during the wargames in Eastern Iran and attained positive results.
The latest achievements in area of armored systems and equipment were successfully tested in the Shohaday-e Vahdat drills, Lieutenant Commander of IRGC Ground Force General Abdollah Araqi announced at the time.

If the Americans and the Israelis think that attacking Iran is like the pushover they had in Iraq; they have another think coming.
Irrespective of the results of such an attack, even if they win , the whole world will lose because oil prices will be exploited by western monopolies to the degree that will grind all but the economically strongest to a halt.
If American initiated war games resulted in such a scenario, it will show the disdain they have for the rest of the world as if the world do not already know that they give little thought as long as it satisfies the American lust for conquest.
There is a reason why our defense budget is every other nation combined plus more! It’s for countries, just like Iran, who actually think they stand a chance against America AND Israel.. Not to mention other allies, and two huge oceans separating the US from the rest of this BS. C’mon!! When will people learn?? Whatever happens, its looking like 2012 is gonna be a real sh** fest. If you ask me I say humanity could use a good ass kicking, 7 billion is way too effing much.. Richard also says in a different comment that America makes up about 5% of world population and consumes 25% of world resources. Well now it seems every other country wants a piece of the pie, like China, population close to 2 billion wanting to emulate the American way of life. How does that add up? Completely, totally unsustainable situation we are faced with. Scary times for sure
Do you Mr. Obama want to play God and deal with population reduction by the use of Nukes? You certain possess too many of them while I doubt Iran has even one as of now.
