Iran will retaliate for “any attack” the US launches against them, a senior Revolutionary Guards commander told the Iran Daily on Tuesday.
“We will not only act in the boundaries of the Middle East and the Persian Gulf, no place in America will be safe from our attacks,” said Massoud Jazayeri.
The dispute over the program, which is seen by the US and Israel as a cover for developing nuclear weapons, has brought new international sanctions against Iran, provoking a stand-off in the Persian Gulf.
Iran insists its program is peaceful and is threatening block the Strait of Hormuz, which connects Gulf oil exporters to the Indian Ocean.
Washington has vowed to keep the Strait open.
