Two Iranian naval ships have docked in the Saudi port of Jeddah. Iranian officials say the move aims to project the country’s “power on the open seas” and “confront Iranophobia.”

The supply ship Kharg and destroyer Shaid Qandi docked on Saturday in the Red Sea port in line with orders from the Islamic Republic’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, according to Iran’s news agency, Fars.

“This mission aims to show the power of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the open seas and to confront Iranophobia,” Fars quoted navy commander Admiral Habibollah Sayari as saying.

The commander added that the mission would last between 70 and 80 days, but did not specify its route.

Tehran says boosting its naval presence in international waters is in part motivated by the need to protect Iranian ships from Somali pirates. This is why Iranian vessels were deployed to the Indian Ocean and the Gulf of Aden last year. In February 2011, for the first time ever, it also sent two naval vessels into the Mediterranean through the Suez Canal.

The rise in Iran’s naval activity comes amid a steep deterioration of its relations with the West. Its ties with Saudi Arabia are also in poor health, and have gone downhill fast since America accused Tehran of masterminding a plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to Washington.

As if that weren’t enough, relations between Tehran and Riyadh deteriorated further after EU countries agreed to impose sanctions on Iran’s oil exports over the country’s nuclear program. In return, Tehran assured the European Union that it is not afraid of its sanctions and that the EU would be the one to suffer. However, Saudi Arabia quickly offered to make up for any shortfall in Europe’s oil supplies. Tehran, in response, called on Riyadh to reconsider, saying its move was unfriendly.

The EU oil embargo has also increased tensions in the Strait of Hormuz – a vital link for oil transit between the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. Iran has threatened to block the Strait in the past, and its determination was underlined when a senior official said Iran would “definitely” close the Strait of Hormuz if the EU oil embargo disrupted the export of crude oil.

The situation around the Strait and the Iranian nuclear program – which the country states is purely peaceful – has already prompted Washington to send squadrons of war ships into the area, while Britain and France have expressed willingness to back the US navy in opposing attempts by Iran to block the Strait.

The Israeli Deputy PM added fuel to the fire, claiming that Iran has also succeeded in building a long-range missile capable of putting the US within its reach. These latest statements are very much in line with the position of Israel and its allies who are accusing Iran of using its nuclear industry to mask plans to develop nuclear arms, a charge official Tehran has frequently and vehemently denied.

The gravity of the crisis became particularly apparent when US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said Israel could attack Iran in the next few months. The attack would allegedly occur before it enters a so-called “immunity zone”, ie: before Iran has time to fortify its nuclear facilities against attack.

Iran’s representative to OPEC says the European Union will “undoubtedly” commit an ‘economic suicide’ if it introduces an oil embargo against Iran.

“With economic crisis in euro zone area any sanctions on Iran’s oil will put European countries in a deeper crisis,” Mohammad-Ali Khatibi told the Mehr News Agency.

Khatibi warned that the U.S. and some European countries must avoid adventurism in the global oil market.

Iran, OPEC’s second biggest producer after Saudi Arabia, exports an average 2.2-2.3 million barrels per day, of which roughly 18-20 percent goes to the European market.

EU member states have agreed in principle to impose an embargo on Iranian oil exports to Europe but it is likely to have a much bigger impact on the EU member states that depend most on Iranian oil as a source of their imports, in particular Spain, Italy and Greece.

Some EU countries reportedly have been seeking a grace period of around six months for the embargo to give them time to source alternative supplies.

Iran has also warned Persian Gulf Arab states not to make up for any shortfall in its oil exports under new U.S. and EU sanctions.

If Arab neighbors compensate for a looming EU ban on Iranian imports, “we would not consider these actions to be friendly,” Khatibi told the Sharq newspaper in an interview published on Sunday.

“They will be held responsible for what happens” in that case, he said, adding, “One cannot predict the consequences.”

“If the oil producing Persian Gulf states give the green light to replacing Iran’s oil these countries would be the main culprits for whatever happens in the region — including the Strait of Hormuz,” Khatibi warned.

“Our Arab neighbor countries should not cooperate with these adventurers… These measures will not be perceived as friendly.”

Saudi Arabian Oil Minister Ali al-Naimi told CNN on Monday that his country could increase production by two million barrels “almost immediately” if sanctions are imposed on Iran’s oil exports.

War in the Middle East now appears imminent as the United States, Britain, the European Union, and Israel put the finishing touches on an embargo on Iran – a de facto declaration of war – and warships steam toward the Persian Gulf.

Consider the following recent developments:

U.S.-Israeli War Game in Persian Gulf

On Friday, the U.S. and Israel announced they plan a massive military exercise in the Persian Gulf in an attempt to confront Iran.

The exercise, dubbed “Austere Challenge 12,” will include the participation of thousands of U.S. and Israeli soldiers and will test multiple air defense systems against incoming missiles and rockets.

On January 2, during its last military exercise, Iran tested its Qader missile, a long-range sea-to-shore missile, and the surface-to-surface Nour missile. The Nour is an “advanced radar-evading, target-seeking, guided and controlled missile and can easily find its target and destroy it,” IRNA reported, quoting 2nd Adm. Seyed Mahmoud Musavi.

Iran Announces New War Game

Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi, naval commander for the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, said on Friday Iran will conduct a second military exercise in the Persian Gulf in February. He said the drill would be “different compared to previous exercises held by the IRGC” but provided no additional details.

Iran also launched a military maneuver near its border with Afghanistan on Saturday. Mohammad Pakpour, commander of the Revolutionary Guards’ ground forces, said the “Martyrs of Unity” exercises are “aimed at boosting security along the Iranian borders,” Fars reported.

British Warships Sent

On Saturday, the British Royal Navy annoucned it is sending its most advanced warship to the Persian Gulf. The HMS Daring is a Type 45 destroyer that has the world’s most sophisticated naval radar.

Earlier in the week, British Defense Secretary Philip Hammond warned Iran against blocking the strait after Iran said it would take action if the United States sailed an aircraft carrier through the waterway following an Iranian 10-day military exercise designed to demonstrate its ability to close down the strategic oil passage.

French and Russian Warships Off Syria

The Israeli intelligence asset DEBKAfile reports today that the Russian carrier Admiral Kuznetsov anchored at Syria’s Tartus port on the Mediterranean on Sunday and arrived with the destroyer Admiral Chabanenko and frigate Yaroslav Mudry.

“To counter this movement, France consigned an air defense destroyer Forbin to the waters off Tartus,” DEBKAfile claims.

Reflecting Israel’s propaganda line on Iran and Syria, DEBKAfile claims that its “military sources report the constant escalation of military tension around Iran and Syria in recent days as not just stemming from the rapid advances Iran is making toward production of a nuclear weapon, but from fears in the West and Israel that Tehran and Damascus are in step over their military plans for the Persian Gulf and Mediterranean sectors.”

Ron Paul: Sanctions First Step Toward War

On Sunday, presidential candidate Ron Paul said the increasingly severe sanctions imposed on Iran in response to its unsubstantiated nuclear weapons program are steps that will eventually lead to war.

“Sanctions were the first step in our wars against Iraq and Libya, and now more sanctions planned against Syria and Iran are leading down the same destructive path,” he warned.

Iran is “planning to be bombed” and would understandably make the necessary arrangements to counter the threat, even though there is “no evidence whatsoever” that they have enriched weapons grade uranium, Paul noted.

He also pointed out that the United States government directly intervened in Iran’s internal affairs when the CIA overthrew the democratically elected leader Mohammad Mosaddeq and installed the Shah in 1953.

Oil Prices Rising Along with Tensions

Oil prices are beginning to climb as the United States and Iran prepare for war. Brent North Sea crude for delivery in February climbed 14 cents to $113.20 a barrel in London on Monday. Continued saber-rattling on both sides have forced oil prices to eight-month highs above the 100 dollars per barrel mark.

In addition to shocking world oil prices, the anticipated attack and Iran after a possible closure of the Strait of Hormuz would dramatically impact the global trade in goods. “If for any reason the strait were closed it would have a huge impact on the economy in the Middle East and would cause a systematic restructuring of flows of goods around the world,” John Manners-Bell, who used to manage European marketing at United Parcel Service Inc., told Bloomberg.

Iranian Missile Base Propaganda

Now that Iran’s Ahmadinejad is visiting Latin America, the discredited rumor that Iran is building intermediate-range missile launch pads at a base on the Paraguaná Peninsula in Venezuela has resurfaced. It was initially floated by the German newspaper Die Welt and subsequently boosted by the Jerusalem Post, a documented neocon propaganda operation. The Post posted the story last May.

The story brings to mind the Cuban Missile Crisis in October of 1962.

According to the Die Welt story, the Iranians paid tens of millions in cash for the base that would be used to fire missiles into the United States after Iran is attacked. It was reported that the Revolutionary Guard-controlled engineering group Khatam al-Anbia is helping build the site.

“From Caracas to Miami is about 1,300 miles, maybe a couple hundred more than from the Peninsula – possibly within the range of Iran’s Ashoura medium-range ballistic missile that can cover a distance of over 1,200 miles,” Robert Johnson wrote for Business Insider last week as the story resurfaced on word of Ahmadinejad’s trip.

Business Insider also reported on a paper produced by latlongpacific that includes coordinates for a possible location and “details on the base and missiles that Iran would likely park there, including the Ghadr-100A with a possible range of 3,000 km or about 1,800 miles,” Johnson writes.

“We have no evidence to support this claim and therefore no reason to believe the assertions made in the article are credible,” the State Department said in response to the story.

A grim Ministry of Finance report prepared for Prime Minister Putin is warning today that the decision by Iran to cease taking US Dollars for its oil could verybe the “first shot” fired in World War III, and one which Russia will be blamed for by the Obama regime.

According to this report, Iran swiftly countered planed US sanctions against its Central Bank yesterday by announcing that it will no longer accept the US Dollar as payment for its oil shipments to India, Japan and China, and further announced that bilateral trade between itself and Russia will, also, break from the US Dollar for settlement in favor of the Iranian Rial and Russian Rubles.

Sure to enrage the Obama regime, this report continues, was that the proposal to switch to the Ruble and the Rial was raised by President Medvedev at a meeting with his Iranian counterpart, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, in Astana, Kazakhstan, of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Though Iran had previously announced in 2008 that it had stopped trading its oil for US Dollars (Ahmadinejad called the depreciating US Dollar a “worthless piece of paper”) India, Japan and China were made exempt due to their large holdings of American currency and fears of wreaking further chaos on the global economic collapse that had just begun.

Important to note, this report reminds us, is that a similar move by Iraq’s former leader Saddam Hussein in not accepting US Dollars for oil in 2000 brought about the invasion of his country by the Americans and their European allies resulting in his eventual execution and causing the vast wealth of Iraqi oil and gas fields to be turned over to the Western oil giants.

Likewise, this report says, former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi earned the same fate as Hussein after he, in the months leading up to the US-NATO military attack on his country, called on African and Muslim nations to join together to create a new currency that would rival the US Dollar and Euro and saying that Libya would only sell oil and other resources around the world only for gold dinars.

Most oil sales throughout the world are denominated in US Dollars, and according to proponents of the petrodollar warfare hypothesis, because most countries rely on oil imports, they are forced to maintain large stockpiles of Dollars in order to continue imports.

This creates a consistent demand for US Dollars and upwards pressure on its value, regardless of economic conditions in the United States. This in turn allows the US government to gain revenues through seignorage and by issuing bonds at lower interest rates than they otherwise would be able to. As a result the USgovernment can run higher budget deficits at a more sustainable level than can most other countries.

But, this report reminds us, the current budget deficit of the US has now reached the staggering amount of $15.23 trillion which is the size of its entire economy, and with the Federal Reserve preparing to being another round of massive printing this coming summer the loss of Iran’s oil customers needing US Dollars could very well signal the collapse of the entire American economy.

Though the Obama regime has sent its Treasury Secretary, Timothy F. Geithner, to China and Japan today in an effort to persuade them to cut back on Iranian oil this effort appears doomed from start as the Chinese have outright rejected this move and Japan has, likewise, expressed its concerns.

As is always the case in these type of dire matters, reports from the US show its mainstream propaganda media organs are not reporting on this potentially catastrophic turn of events leading to yet another circumstance where the American people will be taken by complete surprise when this cold war suddenly turns hot.

In order to prepare itself for what is to come, however, a vast Russian naval fleet arrived in Syria yesterday in an attempt to forestall US-NATO action against its Middle East ally currently under attack by the CIA-backed terrorist group known as al-Qaida.

Most shocking in this report are some Russian economists stating that the Obama regime is actually anticipating the collapse of the US Dollar as a “solution”to their being able to implement drastic socialistic change such as was done during the Great Depression under President Franklin D. Roosevelt, and which the grim statistics being reported from the US show they are, indeed, nearing total economic collapse and include:

1. A staggering 48 percent of all Americans are either considered to be “low income” or are living in poverty.

2. Approximately 57 percent of all children in the United States are living in homes that are either considered to be “low income” or impoverished.

3. If the number of Americans that “wanted jobs” was the same today as it was back in 2007, the “official” unemployment rate put out by the U.S. government would be up to 11 percent.

4. The average amount of time that a worker stays unemployed in the United States is now over 40 weeks.

5. One recent survey found that 77 percent of all U.S. small businesses do not plan to hire any more workers.

6. There are fewer payroll jobs in the United States today than there were back in 2000 even though we have added 30 million extra people to the population since then.

7. Since December 2007, median household income in the United States has declined by a total of 6.8 percent once you account for inflation.

8. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 16.6 million Americans were self-employed back in December 2006. Today, that number has shrunk to 14.5 million.

9. A Gallup poll from earlier this year found that approximately one out of every five Americans that do have a job consider themselves to be underemployed.

10. According to author Paul Osterman, about 20 percent of all U.S. adults are currently working jobs that pay poverty-level wages.

As the buildup for war between the US and Iran continues to escalate, UN Chief Ban ki Moon’s call for the easing of tensions has gone unheeded as the Obama regimes call for the “dogs of war” to be unleashed on the Iranian people shows no sign of abatement.

To what the final outcome may be in all of these events was detailed by Professor Igor Panarin of the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs who has long warned the United States is in a state of economic collapse which will see America being divided up into 6 regions due to a “vulnerable political setup,” “lack of unified national laws,” and “divisions among the elite, which have become clear in these crisis conditions.”

Interesting to note about Professor Panarin’s prediction of the United States splintering into different regions are new reports coming from the United States showing that the Obama regime has recently called for the staffing of what are called FEMA Concentration Camps in not just 6, but 10 different regions of their country.

Professor Panarin further warned that “a secret agreement was reached between Canada, Mexico and the US on a common Amero currency as a new monetary unit” and said that “this could signal preparations to replace the dollar.”

When asked how Russia should react to his vision of the future, Professor Panarin said: “Develop the ruble as a regional currency. Create a fully functioning oil exchange, trading in rubles… We must break the strings tying us to the financial Titanic, which in my view will soon sink.”

In what appears as swift retaliation by Iran against U.S.-led economic sanctions imposed on the Persian Gulf state, suddenly Iran says it will no longer accept the U.S. dollar as payment for its oil shipments to India, Japan and China.

In addition, bilateral trade between Iran and Russia will break from the dollar for settlement in favor of Iranian rial and Russian rubles, according to Iran’s state-run Fars news agency.

But unlike a similarly bold move taken on Oct. 30, 2000, (effective Nov. 6) by Saddam Hussein to rid Iraq of the U.S. dollar as payment for Iraqi oil, Iran asserts the new arrangement to drop the dollar was Russia’s idea.

“The proposal to switch to the ruble and the rial was raised by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev at a meeting with his Iranian counterpart, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, in Astana, Kazakhstan, of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization,” according to Bloomberg.

So, is the U.S. about to embark on another Iraq, or is the situation with Iran more akin to an October 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis with Cuba’s big brother, Russia?

Amazingly, or not (media ignored the euro-for-Iraqi-oil story, too), since the bombshell Iranian announcement, only a handful of news outlets of the West covered the dollar-dumping announcement of this vital story. Of course, though, zerohedge.com (and PrisonPlanet.com’s posting of the zerohedge post) was one of these handful, providing adequate sourcing and commentary of the breaking news about Iran/Russia from China-based ChinaDaily.com.cn.

Most of the usual suspects of traditional media, however, have drawn attention to the threat of a closing of the Strait of Hormuz, instead—an important issue, no doubt, but its no longer news at this point in the crisis and certainly doesn’t compete with the latest development regarding the trashing of the Greenback from a member of OPEC on the same day Russia lays anchor in Syria to the north of Israel.

According to China Daily, “Russian warships patrolling the eastern Mediterranean Sea have docked at Russia’s naval supply facility in the Syrian port of Tartus, the private Addounia TV reported Saturday.

“Governor of Tartus Imad Naddaf received the ships’ leaders and expressed appreciation to Russia’s support for Syria, the report said.

“Russia’s state-owned Itar-Tass news agency quoted a source from the Russian Navy as saying that ‘It is planned that the port of Tartus will be visited by a big anti-submarine ship of the Northern Fleet Admiral Chabanenko and an escort ship Yaroslav Mudry.

So, it appears that the Iranians are a lot more prepared to deal with the U.S. than its neighbor to the West was, Iraq.

And for those familiar with the most likely reason for the attack on Iraq may also be familiar with William R. Clark, author of Petrodollar Warfare: Oil, Iraq and the Future of the Dollar. Of course, ‘weapons of mass destruction’ was merely a sophomoric ruse in the call to war with Iraq. So what was the reason?

In his book, Clark makes a case for a world that will most probably include a future riddled with war in the Middle East, as the U.S. takes preemptive measures to secure—not only oil—but more importantly, to assure a continuation of dollar hegemony in global trade as a means of preventing a Greenback collapse as a medium of exchange and value.

As a preface to his book, Clark posited an essay in January 2003, titled, Revisited — The Real Reasons for the Upcoming War With Iraq: A Macroeconomic and Geostrategic Analysis of the Unspoken Truth. In the essay, Clark cites an anonymous source who told him the NY Fed (through the Treasury ESF) ultimately dictates foreign policy via the U.S. dollar, and that any threat to the artificial support of the dollar must illicit an immediate response at the NSA level.

After reading Clark’s essay, anonymous, or not, the source appears to be a very, very good one.

According to anonymous:

The Federal Reserve’s greatest nightmare is that OPEC will switch its international transactions from a dollar standard to a euro standard. Iraq actually made this switch in Nov. 2000 (when the euro was worth around 82 cents), and has actually made off like a bandit considering the dollar’s steady depreciation against the euro. (Note: the dollar declined 17% against the euro in 2002.)

The real reason the Bush administration wants a puppet government in Iraq — or more importantly, the reason why the corporate-military-industrial network conglomerate wants a puppet government in Iraq — is so that it will revert back to a dollar standard and stay that way. (While also hoping to veto any wider OPEC momentum towards the euro, especially from Iran — the 2nd largest OPEC producer who is actively discussing a switch to euros for its oil exports).

Saddam sealed his fate when he decided to switch to the euro in late 2000 (and later converted his $10 billion reserve fund at the U.N. to euros) — at that point, another manufactured Gulf War become inevitable under Bush II. Only the most extreme circumstances could possibly stop that now and I strongly doubt anything can — short of Saddam getting replaced with a pliant regime.

Big Picture Perspective: Everything else aside from the reserve currency and the Saudi/Iran oil issues (i.e. domestic political issues and international criticism) is peripheral and of marginal consequence to this administration. Further, the dollar-euro threat is powerful enough that they will rather risk much of the economic backlash in the short-term to stave off the long-term dollar crash of an OPEC transaction standard change from dollars to euros. All of this fits into the broader Great Game that encompasses Russia, India, China. [Emphasis added]

As we know, following Iraq’s decision to dump the dollar in favor of the Euro, 14 months later U.S. President George W. Bush delivered his ‘Axis of Evil’ speech on the first State of the Union address of his presidency on Jan. 23, 2002. Iraq, Iran and N. Korean are the nations of that axis, according to Bush.

With Iraq as the first casualty of the Great Game, that leaves Iran and N. Korea left as targets and responses from Russia and China.

Calls for $3,000 gold are everywhere. With central banks printing money at astonishing rates without formally announcing anything about it; tensions in the Persian Gulf rivaling the Cuban Missile Crisis; and an election year that sports the most threatening presidential candidate (Congressman Ron Paul of Texas) to the ‘establishment’ since John Kennedy (or maybe as far back as Theodore Roosevelt 1900-08), it appears early on that surviving 2012 without a major event is a very long shot, indeed.

Tehran’s leadership has decided to order a blockade of the strategic Strait of Hormuz if the country’s oil exports are blocked, a senior Revolutionary Guard Commander said as reported by Iranian press.

The strategic decision was made by Iran’s top authorities, Ali Ashraf Nouri said, as cited by the Iranian Khorasan daily.

“The supreme authorities … have insisted that if enemies block the export of our oil, we won’t allow a drop of oil to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. This is the strategy of the Islamic Republic in countering such threats,” Nouri said.

Until now, there had been no official confirmation of Iran’s military having direct orders to block the Strait. However, Tehran has been threatening to block the strategic waterway – one of the world’s most important oil routes – if the West slapped more sanctions on its oil exports or risked hostile military act of any kind.

Meanwhile, Iran is planning a new round of “massive” naval drills codenamed The Great Prophet, which will be carried out by the country’s elite Revolutionary Guard with its own air, naval and ground forces, separate from those of the regular military.

On Thursday, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s naval commander, Admiral Ali Fadavi, said the next round of war games would be “different” from previous ones.

Iran recently held a 10-day naval exercise near the Strait of Hormuz, demonstrating its military prowess and ability to take full control of the waters if necessary.

A shocking report prepared by the Foreign Military Intelligence Directorate (GRU) for Prime Minister Putin that is circulating in the Kremlin today states that the “mysterious killings” of two of the United States Navy’s “Top Gun” pilots are “more than likely” related to a “false flag” attack being engineered by the Obama regime as a pretext to starting an all-out war with Iran.

According to this report, US Navy “Top Gun” pilots John Reeves and David Reis were both killed this past weekend in what US police authorities are claiming was a murder-suicide that also claimed the lives of Karen Reis (sister of David Reis) and Matthew Saturley, a civilian.

US news reports on this matter state that US Navy Officers John Reeves and David Reis, along with Reis’ sister Karen, went out together on New Years Eve and returned to the condo shared by Reeves and Reis around 2:00am PST with Matthew Saturley whom they had met while partying.

Upon entering the condo, US news reports continue, gunfire “immediately erupted” causing Matthew Saturley, who had been outside talking with an unnamed friend, to rush inside the condo where he, too, was killed. US police reports state that upon entering the condo Reeves shot and killed his fellow pilot Reis, Reis’ sister Karen, Saturley when he rushed inside, whereupon he then shot himself in the head.

Russian military experts in this GRU report, however, dispute the account given by US police authorities stating that these killings “hold all the hallmarks” of being an intelligence operation designed to silence those killed and most frequently done by highly trained special forces hit teams.

To the reason(s) someone would want to silence these two “Top Gun” pilots, this GRU report continues, was their association with Matthew Saturley who was regarded as one of Americas top predictive analysts and a seasoned MIT-trained financial leader who was finalizing his Master Thesis on the pricing of Middle Eastern oil related to US war moves.

Not being told about Matthew Saturley by the propaganda US media, this GRU report continues, was that Saturley was a happily married man with a 7-year-old stepson and 5-year-old daughter who returned to the condo with “Top Gun” pilots Reeves and Reis with an as yet “unnamed” man believed by Russian intelligence analysts to have been Saturley’s “witness” should anything have gone wrong at this clandestine meet.

Russian intelligence analysts further state in this GRU report that Saturley was given an “unmistakable warning” to back off of his research this past June when his father, Robert, was brutally killed by a hit-and-run driver while riding his bicycle near his home in New Hampshire.

To the claim by US police authorities that the killing of these four people was the result of a murder-suicide this GRU report calls “beyond comprehension”due to “Top Gun” US Navy pilots being given some of the most rigorous and thorough psychological and mental evaluations of any human being on earth. [Note: US Navy “Top Gun” pilots were first popularized in the movie by the same name released in 1986 starring international film star Tom Cruise, though the official name for this elite military pilot programme is known as the United States Navy Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor Programme (SFTI).]

GRU archivists contributing to this report state that in all of US Navy history there has never been a single report of a similar case involving murder-suicide, in fact there has never been either a murder or a suicide committed by of any of these elite officers in modern times.

To the truer reason(s) for these executions, the GRU claims, lies in the upcoming mission both of these “Top Gun” pilots were slated for where they were scheduled for training aboard the USS John C. Stennis Nimitz-class nuclear-powered supercarrier (CVN-74) [photo 2nd left] that Iran this past week warnednot to return to the Persian Gulf.

To the information Reeves and Reis were conveying to Saturley during their clandestine New Years Day meet this GRU report doesn’t speculate upon other than noting it must have been dire due to the response of the Obama regime in perpetrating this massacre of its own citizens.

Even more astounding, according to US news reports, the Obama regime has claimed for itself the right to kill any American citizen they choose meaning that under their laws this massacre may, indeed, be completely legal and not subject to investigation due to it being a “state secret.”

As war between the US and Iran draws ever closer, the actions of Obama are now being said are “dictatorial” and Americans now live under the specter of being imprisoned by their own military without charges or trial should they pose any threat to the state.

To how soon war may break out between the US and Iran this GRU report notes it will be “sooner rather than later,” an assessment backed up by Iran’s announcing today it will begin new maneuvers in Hormuz Strait in February.

Not being told to the American people about this conflict by their propaganda media is that a defacto “State of War” currently exists between the US and Iran due to sanctions Obama instituted last week on any country or company that buys Iranian oil and pays for it through Iran’s Central Bank. Without Iran being able to obtain payment for selling its oil, which is its main source of income, their economy will collapse, and as evidenced by the catastrophic plunge of their currency this week.

In order for one to fully grasp the grim import of Obama’s moves against Iran one only has to look at his predecessor, President Franklin Roosevelt (FDR), whose sanctions and embargos against Japan lit the fuse that ignited World War II, and we quote from the historical archive:

“…FDR did not want to cut off oil. As he told his Cabinet on July 18[1941], an embargo meant war, for that would force oil-starved Japan to seize the oil fields of the Dutch East Indies. But a State Department lawyer named Dean Acheson drew up the sanctions in such a way as to block any Japanese purchases of U.S. oil. By the time FDR found out, in September, he could not back down.

Tokyo was now split between a War Party and a Peace Party, with the latter in power. Prime Minister Konoye called in Ambassador Joseph Grew and secretly offered to meet FDR in Juneau or anywhere in the Pacific. According to Grew, Konoye was willing to give up Indochina and China, except a buffer region in the north to protect her from Stalin, in return for the U.S. brokering a peace with China and opening up the oil pipeline. Konoye told Grew that Emperor Hirohito knew of his initiative and was ready to give the order for Japan’s retreat.

Fearful of a “second Munich,” America spurned the offer. Konoye fell from power and was replaced by Hideki Tojo. Still, war was not inevitable. U.S. diplomats prepared to offer Japan a “modus vivendi.” If Japan withdrew from southern Indochina, the United States would partially lift the oil embargo. But Chiang Kai-shek became “hysterical,” and his American adviser, one Owen Lattimore, intervened to abort the proposal.

Facing a choice between death of the empire or fighting for its life, Japan decided to seize the oil fields of the Indies. And the only force capable of interfering was the U.S. fleet that FDR had conveniently moved from San Diego out to Honolulu.

And so Japan attacked.”

So today, and due solely to American arrogance, another nation, Iran, is now facing the choice between its death or fighting for its life….this is, indeed, how World Wars begin.

No oil will be permitted to pass through the key oil transit Strait of Hormuz if the West applies sanctions on Iran’s oil exports, Iranian Vice President Ali Rahimi warned on Tuesday.

The threat was reported by the state news agency IRNA as Iran conducted navy wargames near the Strait of Hormuz, at the entrance of the oil-rich Gulf.

“If sanctions are adopted against Iranian oil, not a drop of oil will pass through the Strait of Hormuz,” Rahimi was quoted as saying.

“We have no desire for hostilities or violence… but the West doesn’t want to go back on its plan” to impose sanctions, he said.

“The enemies will only drop their plots when we put them back in their place,” he said.

The threat underlined Iran’s readiness to target the narrow stretch of water along its Gulf coast if it is attacked or economically strangled by Western sanctions.

More than a third of the world’s tanker-borne oil passes through the Strait of Hormuz.

The United States maintains a navy presence in the Gulf in large part to ensure that passage remains free.

Iran is currently carrying out navy exercises in international waters to the east of the Strait of Hormuz.

Ships and aircraft dropped mines in the sea Tuesday as part of the drill, according to a navy spokesman.

Although Iranian wargames occur periodically, the timing of these is seen as a show of strength as the United States and Europe prepare to impose further sanctions on Iran’s oil and financial sectors.

The last round of sanctions, announced in November, triggered a pro-regime protest in front of the British embassy in Tehran during which Basij militia members overran the mission, ransacking it.

London closed the embassy as a result and ordered Iran’s mission in Britain shut as well.

Unknown armed groups have blown up a pipeline carrying oil from eastern Syria to a refinery in the western city of Homs, Press TV reports.

On Thursday, Syrian sources told Press TV that the attack was carried out by armed gangs that operate in and around the city.

Homs has been the major scene of recent unrest in Syria that originated in mid-March.

The Syrian government blames “outlaws, saboteurs and armed terrorist groups” for the unrest, insisting that it is being orchestrated from abroad.

Confessions by a number of Syrian rebels about foreign-sponsored plans to carry out armed operations and killing ordinary people as well as security forces prove that recent developments in the country are part of an attempt to incite a revolt in the strategic country neighboring the Israeli regime, aiming to overthrow the current government and replace it with a US-backed regime.

However, a resolution adopted by the Arab League against Syria has enhanced the unity of Syrian people. Figures show that during the past weeks, nearly 12 million people have demonstrated in support of President Bashar al-Assad.

On November 27, the Arab League approved unprecedented sanctions against Syria, including a freeze on assets possessed by the Syrian government and an embargo on investments for projects in the country.

The Syrian government has also accused the Arab League of seeking to “internationalize” the situation in the country.

The Arab League action against Syria has raised major controversies in the Arab world, as the organization is mostly made up of notoriously authoritarian regimes that are heavily under the influence of the US and major Western European governments, despite their widely publicized claims of supporting democracy and human rights.

An unsettling report prepared by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation (Minprirody of Russia) on the ongoing catastrophe in the Gulf of Mexico caused by the world’s third largest energy company, British Petroleum (BP), is now stating that they have won approvalfrom the US Interior Department to drill its first exploratory oil well in this region since the blowout of its Macondo Prospect well a year and a half ago touched off that country’s worst ever offshore environmental disaster.

Especially unnerving about this Minprirody report is its stating that the approval given to BP by the Obama regime came less than a week after a “suspected”whistleblower to the Gulf of Mexico oil leak catastrophe named George Thomas Wainwright [photo 2nd left] was reported killed after a shark attack in Australia.

Wainwright, according to this report, was a marine systems engineer who graduated from Texas A&M University and was employed by BP to help control remote-operated vehicles, or ROVs, that worked 5,000 feet below the surface of the Gulf of Mexico to cap the oil spill.

Six months ago, this report continues, Wainwright “suddenly” left the United States travelling to Australia where he lived until his untimely death last week on a work visa, a “situation” Russian officials familiar with US whistleblowers say is “more than common” for those seeking to hide from American government-corporate retribution for telling the truth about what they know.

Unbeknownst to the American people about whistleblowers in their country is that Obama, who promised while running for President that he would be “more open” than anyone before him, has, instead, already outdone every previous President in pursuing leak prosecutions…and that was after only 17 months in office.

Where candidate Obama said in 2008 that “whistleblowers are part of a healthy democracy and must be protected from reprisal,” he is widely reported to now be targeting them as “enemies of the state.”

Making this situation even more frightening, especially for purported whistleblowers like Wainwright, is Obama now claiming for himself the power to assassinate any American citizen he so chooses, anywhere in the world without trial or evidence.

Conditions have become so dangerous in the US that respected Congressman Ron Paul blasted the Obama regime this past week warning Americans that a“sinister military-style crackdown” by the Obama regime was currently underway threatening all of the American people’s freedoms and liberties.

In a recent poll taken by the New York Times the American people overwhelming agree with Congressman Paul after it showed a staggering 89% of these people have now become afraid of their own government.

Should Wainwright’s death, at some future date, be conclusively linked to his purported whistleblowing activities against BP this report notes he would not be alone as the following “insiders” into the full knowledge of the Gulf of Mexico catastrophe have, as of this date, also been “neutralized” and include:

US Senator Ted Stevens who was the recipient of a whistleblower’s communication relative to the BP oil disaster blow-out preventer was killed in a plane crash.

Matthew Simmons, the only inside oil executive to speak the truth about the BP oil spill was found dead in this hot tub.

LSU scientist Gregory Stone an outspoken critic against BP who died suddenly of an “unknown illness.”

Mississippi Department of Marine Resources officer Antony Tremonte who after exposing the full extent of the BP oil spill was arrested on child porn charges.

Former President and CEO of the International Oil Spill Control Corporation Dr. Thomas B. Manton who began exposing the truth of BP oil spill was imprisoned then murdered while in jail.

Former Pentagon official and presidential aide and a defense consultant and expert on chemical and biological weapons John P. Wheeler II was beaten to death in an assault and his body was dumped in a landfill after he began investigating the BP oil spill.

The incident commander for BP’s Gulf of Mexico oil spill response team, and Wainwright’s superior, James Patrick Black was killed in a small plane crash.

Dr. Chitra Chaunhan who worked in the USF Center for Biological Defense and Global Health Infectious Disease Research studying the effects on humans of the BP oil spill was found dead by an apparent suicide by cyanide capsule leaving behind a young daughter and husband.

One of the world’s most renowned researchers into swans Dr. Jeffrey Gardner disappeared in November, 2010 and has never been heard from again after he began investigating unexplained bird deaths related to the BP oil spill.

Roger Grooters who began a 3,200 mile cycle trip across America to raise awareness of the Gulf of Mexico catastrophe was killed by a hit and run driver.

US Scientist Joseph Morrissey who was studying the effects of the BP oil spill on cells was shot to death during a home invasion robbery, no one was ever arrested.

To if these deaths, including Wainwright’s, that are related to the BP Gulf of Mexico oil spill catastrophe will ever be fully investigated their appears no hope as Obama has already become the largest recipient of campaign donations from this British oil giant they have made in the past 20 years…and as we all know…in America the “almighty” US Dollar is the only thing that matters.

May these poor souls Rest in Peace in the hope that “someday” their fellow citizens will awaken before all is lost.
